Psychoeducational Groups for survivors of sexual abuse are forming now. Please call for information.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri.
My areas of special focus and expertise include women's and gender related issues, work with survivors of trauma and abuse, and work with people in recovery from alcohol and drugs. I’m trained and experienced in various approaches to therapy that could be adjusted to your specific needs and goals. I have worked with a wide variety of people through their struggles, transitions, mental health concerns, relational conflicts, addictions, spiritual struggles and creative blocks.
I believe that it is natural for most people to experience some emotional discomfort. It is natural to feel overwhelmed, angry, lost or stuck. Everyone would experience some depression and anxiety at least once in their life. I believe that each individual, couple, and family has a unique set of strengths and abilities. Sometimes, we need a little help in identifying these strengths and in using them to achieve our goals. Change and growth may come about in many different ways. For some people it is by learning new copings skills or adopting new communication methods. While for others it is overcoming the hurts of the past, adopting a new outlook, or accepting what cannot be changed. It is important to me to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment, and collaborate with my clients while they uncover their own path to balance and wellness.
I earned my Master of Social Work and certification in Clinical Social Work Families from Saint Louis University, in 2007. I also received my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Saint Louis University in 2005.
Fees for service:
My full fee is $100 for an individual, couples, or family session. A sliding scale down to $40.00 can be requested based on income. Out of network insurance reimbursement may also be arranged.
A Note on Sexual Abuse:
Latest statistics indicate that every 2 minutes someone is sexually assaulted, yet 60% of the assaults go unreported. I am concerned about the limited resources available for survivors in Franklin County, and am happy to bring my expertise to the area.
